CSC eNews Update | 5.31.11
The new CSC has come a long way in a short period of time. The driveway and parking lot are completed and we’re digging slots in the RV park. The weather hasn’t been cooperating for skydiving, but the construction crews have been hard at work. With all of this rain, it has slowed up excavating a bit, but the guys at Campton Excavation are doing everything they can to keep things rolling. The power and fiber optic service has been ordered and we hope to see them trenching that in this week. Once that’s in, we will have 30amp service at each RV slot as well as power to our new temp facilities so we can begin moving our operations over to our property.
The 3,200 square foot party tent shipped today and will be up by Friday. We are excited about our first party under the big-top this weekend for our first annual Boogie for Boobies.
Boogie for Boobies is a new event we’re putting on to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. We have secured a turbine powered MD500 helicopter for Saturday. Also, PJ Jackson from Supafly Skydiving will be here all weekend load organizing. If you would like one-on-one coaching with PJ, check out his website for rates. We’ve asked Abraham’s Bar and Grill to design a menu for dinner on Saturday as well as coordinating the Red Bull Wings Team to bring out a couple girls for all of your caffeine-related needs. Save $5 off the registration fee if you register before Wednesday – click here. Registration for this event is required – included is an event t-shirt, food and drink tickets, organizers, helicopter, and raising money for a great cause.

While we’re working on the electrical service for the RVs, you can bring your RV out and park in the parking lot. You can use a generator or candles!
We’ve secured a Wednesday taco spot – T-Byrd Lanes. Dan and his crew started doing tacos on Wednesdays just for us. Bowling is discounted on Wednesdays as well. We’re excited to have a home after a day full of jumping on our discounted Wednesdays.
Abraham’s Bar and Grill has graciously accepted to be our “go-to” bar where we send students after they skydive with us. Robin and the crew at Abe’s have been very accommodating and we’re pretty sure they’ve never ordered so much Fat Tire as they do to keep up with us.
This weekend, we’ll be auctioning off a 9,000 foot tandem skydive, a level one solo skydive, a video package, some gift certificates from local vendors and more. You can purchase raffle tickets when you check-in on Saturday morning. You do not need to be present to win. Proceeds go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Speaking of boogies, the Independence Boogie is back this year! July 1-10, we’ll be celebrating with some amazing skydives! Our friends at SkyVenture Colorado will be here the 7th-10th, Mirage, PD, ParaGear, and the SkyVan will be here the July 9 & 10. Sandy Grillet and PJ Jackson, as well as the PROskydiving VFS team and your friendly neighborhood LO’s will be there for your organizing pleasure. We’ll let you know more details as we firm them up – but save the date! You can register for the Independence Boogie here.
